Energy has to arrive first
Every other ambition on this site is downstream of a working power supply. That is not a slogan, it is the order the work has to happen in.
Why this is the first pillar and not the third
A clinic without power cannot keep vaccines cold. A workshop without power cannot run a lathe. A student without light cannot study after sunset. In each case the missing thing is not ambition or intelligence, it is electricity.
So energy is not one sector sitting beside the others. It is the floor the others stand on. Put money into agriculture before power and you get a farm that can only work in daylight. Put money into technology before power and you get equipment that sits idle. Put power in first and both of them start to compound.
What I am actually training for
I am studying electrical engineering, and alongside the degree I am working through Revit MEP so I can design the electrical and mechanical services a building needs rather than just describe them. That is the practical skill I intend to bring home: designing systems that an installer can build and a local technician can maintain.
I am deliberately not claiming more than that. I am not a policy expert and I am not going to pretend a degree makes me one. What I can do is the engineering layer, and do it properly.
The order I would do it in
Measure the real load
Design for the demand that exists, not the demand a brochure assumes. Oversized systems fail on cost; undersized ones fail on trust.
Design for maintenance
A system nobody nearby can repair is a system with an expiry date. Parts, skills and documentation have to be available locally.
Make the economics stand up
If it only works while a grant is paying for it, it hasn't worked yet. The unit has to make sense to the person buying it.
Still open
The part I am still working out is financing: how a household or a small business pays for a solar system on an income that arrives unevenly. If that is your field, I would like to talk.
